Vanguard 69 Olds 442 Tribute

109K seems crazy but where to start ... the level of detail is interesting, clean paint, interior even underneath yet, random holes in various spots and loose wiring.

I'd never heard of Vanguard until I got my car (previous owner got it from VMS) but since then I've kinda watched and it seems like most of their stuff is reasonably priced.. but I think this is a bit high.

An O.A.I. hood in conjunction with under bumper scoops looks extremely goofy. Of course, I'm not a fan of the 70 hood on a 69 anyway. TH350 trans, 4 wheel disc brakes with what appears to be a disk/drum master cylinder, and the goofy angle on the air cleaner that yet again demonstrates why Olds didn't offer A/C on the 68-69 O.A.I. cars.

Hey, it has Buick wheels (he said it) and a spoiler on a convertible. Pricing is crazy for a clone.

At a glance it appears to be nicely crafted by a restorer who didn't know anything about these cars. Numerous faux pas are evident beyond those already listed, to the extent that it's more of a restomod than a clone.

And I don't know that I'd pay $109K for a real one.

It looks like they just picked as many aftermarket add-on's as they could and bolted them to this car but what takes the cake, imo, is having the OAI hood and the under bumper ram air induction on the same car. That's goofy AF.
