For Sale: 1966 Starfire

Hello,

For sale:
1966 Starfire
-white with red interior
-original 425 (rebuilt in 1990)
-original trans (rebuilt in 1996)
-original California car

This was my everyday car until 1998 when I bought a new pickup. Since then, it has been parked although I start it every once in a while. It is still registered and insured.
Car is in the 94404 area code. Needs battery, tires, and mufflers. Asking $2100.00 OBO.
Will post pics soon, if there's any interest.

1966 Starfire

Hello Highspeed.

Might you have any spare parts for a 1966 Starfire? I am looking for the driver's side electric window regulator -- either with or without the motor.

Why are cars like this always on the other side of the country?

Starfirefan- your PW regulator can come from any 1965-68 GM B 2-door hardtop. Includes Impala, LeSabre, Bonneville, Olds 88.

Rocketraider,

Thank you for the cross reference! I really appreciate the assistance. Finding parts for these wonderful cars has been a challenge, as you doubtless know.

Wow. I know California has a lot of people, therefore needs a lot of phone numbers, and therefore has a lot of area codes, but I never knew they needed SO MANY area codes that they're now up to FIVE digits while the rest of the country still uses only three! Amazing!

Hi mikeplang,
I still have the car. I have installed new mufflers, had the radiator repaired, replaced all radiator hoses and heater hoses, replaced the thermostat, replaced the coolant and, installed chrome valve covers (stock type) in the last two months. Are you interested in the car?

Always in California....Darn, I was just in San Francisco two weeks ago. I didn't see the for sale post until today. You're asking $2,100 not $21,000?

Hello aaron 4608,

Yes, I still have the Starfire, I have done the following to the car since my March 2011 post:

- installed new battery
- installed new P/S hoses
- installed new U-joints
- installed new front and rear brakes
- installed new exhaust
- installed new idler arm
- had the distributer rebuilt
- had the carburetor rebuilt
- installed new tires (BF Goodrich 245-60-14) on new 14x8 wheels (steel stock type) with original 3-spinner wire wheel hub caps

I am able to drive the car at any time and have driven it to work several times which is about a 40 minute drive, longer driving back home....hey, the commute is terrible sometimes in CA
Anyway, I am sorta "on the fence" about selling the car; however, the selling price would be more than the $2100 I was asking for earlier. Please let me know if you are still interested and we can discuss it, thanks.

The seller beat me to it by a matter of minutes, but I still own a car I tried to sell a couple times, going back to 2011 and even before that. A combination of my not being able to get what I was asking...and my deciding (not coincidentally) not to sell it.

All that said, no, Aaron probably did not realize...

I forgot to add that I also installed a new larger diameter front sway bar and matching rear sway bar.....amazing how much of a difference that made!

It's odd that this old of a thread would still yield a reply, let alone for a vehicle to still be available.

Well, the price certainly would be more than the $2100.00 due to all that has been done to the car now. I have yet to add up how much I spent in the five years since my original post. I do not even know if I can find all of the receipts. Anyway, if any of you are serious, please let me know. Thanks.

Hi 1arunem,
Hmmm, although I listed several things I repaired/replaced, there were many smaller items I did too. You asked for a price that I currently would sell the car for so...
$8500.00
Thanks.
