Only one of these is even close to being correct. On the other hand, I remain skeptical of any "W30" that has the crappy vac-u-formed repro red inner fenders.

I also don't know what's going on here. The plastic frame around the VIN tag should be the same color as the upper dash metal.

These bucket seats with the extra chrome trim on the back are not correct for an A-body. These are out of an E-body and the upholstery doesn't even match the rear seat. For $75K I would expect stuff like that to be correct. Simple mistakes like this make one wonder about the quality of the work done on the car.

The steering wheel is not correct for a 68 442 either.

3.73 gears were not an option on a 1968 W30, so that is also wrong. Other than having the stripes nearly correct, the silver car raises a LOT of red flags.

Of course the green car has it's own share of issues. The VIN tag isn't supposed to be painted dash color, which implies rust repair at the base of the windshield before it was painted.

The green car has been converted to aftermarket disc brakes with the imported PV2 combo valve mounted under the M/C, which will work but is not correct for a 1968 disc brake car. The A/C has been converted to a Sanden compressor with R134. The UHV ignition sticker on the firewall isn't supposed to be there and I have no idea what that blue sticker is at the front of the intake. I don't even know how you get the valve cover grommet clocked off at an angle like that, (the hole is D-shaped and the grommet only goes in one way) and of course why isn't the breather tube connected to the air cleaner? See the comment above about indicators like this that makes one question the quality of workmanship in the car.

Oh, and they've installed the rear floormats sideways. You missed that.

Thanks guys, it's nice to have 3rd party knowledge to point out these issues. In the market for a higher level car, but I know my own limitations!

Well, if you're going to spend some serious money and you want an authentic car but you're not super-familiar with the marque, you might want to get somebody who is to give it a look-see before you plunk down any green.

There are lots of knowledgeable people here on CO, but you can only tell so much from pictures, especially from a dealer -- they only show you what they want you to see. The car should be inspected in person.
