73 hurst olds, all original
will be getting pics soon, its a 73 H/O, original engine with 117000 miles, has the alarm from hurst, and the digital tach ( stopped working recently) will look into it in the next few days. paint is faded and there is a small amount of rust under the back window, top will also need to be replaced, interior isnt horrible by any means but will need new seat skins, door panels ,dash and console in pretty good shape, runs excellent. car has a box of all the service records on the car for years, comes with the original hurst license plate and the hurst 8track tape. hoping someone may be able to help out on what its worth because i havent a clue.

Is it black or white? Black or white interior? Inquiring minds want to know! Also, where in the country are you? Can't wait to see pics! A '73 H/O is on my short bucket list! The black '75 H/O in my signature was just a temporary fix until I can get my dream of a black '73 H/O!

Not bad... That rust under the top I am very familiar with! What a shame the top is rotted. The rest of the cars metal is in better shape then I would have expected.
AnyHO...
I said, sadly they don't get much money yet. As I said , the cars I restored went for 300 up and I haven't sold one restored for more then 14000. They just haven't come into their own like the 68, 69 and 72's.
I think if you have the ability to restore or replace the roof its a solid candidate for restoration. Its Vista Vent(moonroof) is nice option and so is the Harmon Kardon digital tachometer (Tac II).
I will pm you what I think its worth if your interested.
Sorry I thought you told me it was white.....
Hopefully it doesn't cause a divorce! LOL

Should a 73 H/O with a/c have a dual snorkel air cleaner?
#21
I was actually installing a stereo tonight in one of my HO's. It slipped...
A 73 Ho with A/C should not have a dual snorkel. The A/C cars all had U in the vin number to denote a/c 455. The Dual Snorkels were on the V vin non air cars. It is my understanding that that the V cars with dual snorkel account for less then 10 percent of the 1097 produced in 1973. They also came with a hotter cam, k heads and a 3;23 posi rear standard.
Good stuff!

OK, useless trivia time! In the Mopar world, "U" engine code in the VIN was a 440 Magnum with a 4 barrel carb, "V" engine code in the VIN stood for 440 Six Pack (Dodge) or 440 6 BBL (Plymouth). "R" was 426 HEMI. Now you can impress your Mopar friends.

Those black '73 H/Os are such nice looking cars inside and out. I'll keep an eye on this thread...
Hurstolds1973 - I enjoyed looking at your restoration albums. Glad to see you saving them.

Love that louvered hood. Cragars look nice on that car. Good luck with sale.
My bro had a '73 Cutlass Supreme with a bastard 403 (don't know where it came from. Bought from orig owner who claimed motor was original to car??). Car drove real smooth...until northeast winters ate it

Alarm code? If its original equipment it controlled by a key on the drivers fender above the Cutlass script. It is simple wiring system triggered by an open circuit at either door swtch or hood and trunk being opened. I do not see the Hurst switch so it has to be an aftermarket alarm?

yea i was just looking through all the papers i have and the reciept is there from like 1985 when they had it installed, this one has a little number pad mounted on the console and i guess you have to enter in the 4 digit code for it to be able to start or something like that

decided if it doesnt sell tommorow at the end of the auction, im goin to take it to the body shop and have them do all the body work, fix the issues under the top and repainted, lined up a guy to install a new top, or does a company make a replacement for it? then time for new interior. so if i still own it tommorow im guessing it should be all nice and shiny in a few months. if anyone can direct me to a good place to get the top material and seat skins ect. id appreciate it, thanks guys

I was hoping it would sell and go to a good home and not be tossed around from garage to garage. Saving it from greedy people trying to flip it for a buck. It is a real nice car that deserves to be restored to its former glory as a gentleman's muscle car.
