Not my ad, but is this for real? One of 123 made? Looks like there might be a lot of rust repair on this one. http://winnipeg.kijiji.ca/c-cars-veh...AdIdZ264104424

Is that a painted roof or vinyl top car?

If it's a painted roof on a post car...I am in love

It is hard to tell if that one has a painted roof or a vinyl. My 70 F-85 post was originally painted 2 tone light green bottom and dark green top. It is all solid black primer now with the top trim removed. I will sell you mine and you can paint it any colors you want!

Once again, rare does not equal valuable. Someday people will learn that.

It's actually my car, and I am just looking to find someone who has more time than myself to work on it. Seems like any project + kids = no time. Not insinuating in the ad that the car is some priceless model due to the numbers, but a little better project than a 1972 Cutlass S. Good title, but obviously in need of rust repair. And it is two-tone, not sure if factory but never been vinyl on the roof from what I can tell.

Is that snow inside the car on the package shelf?
Baby Harp Seal sunning itself?
Does the Seal come with the car if it is one?...house trained?
If it's snow crank up that optional rear window defogger.

It is snow, we have had a pile of it this winter, and the seal in the rear window was poor to start with. Weight of the snow was too much and the Harp Seal snuck in.

Price seems a bit high considering all the rust and a non-original engine... but good on ya for being upfront about it. Joe's right, rare (and old)doesn't necessarily mean desirable.

Original engine is there, just not in the car right now. The rust is substantial, but I figure with a sound title, and maybe some negotiating, it would make a pretty great project. Rarity (or better oddity) is just a bonus.

Not negotiable in the sense that I have grown tired of getting lowball offers from all manner of internet idiots. If someone showed up or actually put the effort in to give some actual interest, I am not above some negotiating. As well, most car hauler trailers are no where near $3000, even new. Some space for a person to get the car cheaper than the asking price as well.

Well, good luck. You might want to consider some minor wording changes in your ad. For example, to many people "car hauler" means a truck with ramps, not just a trailer. That was my first reaction.

Being a post model, the production numbers for 1972 is low, add to that W29 code 442 and it makes it something of an oddity.

Well good luck to you on selling this car. I was curious about it being rare and worth what you were asking. I think you'll find the guys here very knowledgeable about Olds'.

I can definately relate to the issues you've been having with people on the net saying they're interested and then vanishing into the void of internet. Be careful about saying non negotiable. I used to know a guy who wouldn't budge on his prices when selling cars. He would warn people not to low-ball him and if they did he would refuse a sale even if they came back and offered his price!

Not something I'd do. He's a bit nuts.
