No expert here, but this car looks really nice, the only thing that stands out to this eye is the '71-'72 driver side fender. Too bad some critical docs were lost. Also too bad they didn't bother to fix the passenger side trumpet which is hanging way too low.
Something doesn't make sense. You don't just lose paperwork. And with the number of pictures taken in the last 20 years, someone has to have pictures of it
No mention to if the engine is matching # or not & no picture of the block vin stamping. As posted before the wide ratio transmission was not an option in 70.
I just cannot fathom nobody along the way of ownership ever took a picture of a supposed broadcast card. I mean this car has been around the block. I personally am suspect about it for sure.
Well, I'll let you all know what I find out about the car when I get it delivered :-) Hopefully within a couple of weeks...
Any recommendations on sources for replacement door panels or repair to existing, and from what I gathered, the seat covers are not correct? Best source for those?

Kelly - You need to get in touch w/Legendary Interiors NOW for your door panel/rear panel and seat cover needs. They have a long waiting list and they might be having a Christmas/New Years sale right now (I don't know 100%). Your current panels were likely made by PUI as they have the "wrinkling", etc that is very typical of the woodgrain inserts on their panels. Legendary's products are of a higher quality and they won't wrinkle, etc and they have a "lifetime" guarantee.
No use in trying to "correct" the wrinkling woodgrain inserts on your existing panels. Can't be done and any attempt to cut and re-glue those areas will just be an ugly mess. Somebody might buy your existing panels for a driver type car.

Thank you All for the welcome and comments and thank you 70Post for the recommendation. I will definitely reach out to them very soon! :-)
Patton, Legendary has 25% off until J6. I ordered new panels for the pace car.
Kelly, congrats on the purchase. What is the plan for the car? I would have to imagine someone has a picture of the broadcast card. Who did the initial restoration on the car?
Looking again at the seat cover pics from the auction.....the grain/material looks to me to be correct but I don't have a '70 convert/Supreme interior here to compare to. Do have a new Legendary '72 set and the seat covers here that have the same grain pattern as seen in the auction pics.
I'll have to go re-read the comments in the auction.
WTHIRTY1, My initial plan is to fix the obvious items like the panels, exhaust position, taillight lenses, turn signal bulbs, etc, confirm no major mechanical issues to address and then drive/enjoy it :-) . I've already started reaching out to Mecum and Barrett to see if they can assist in any direction for contacts of prior owners to possibly obtain digital copies of documents, who did the restoration, etc. There are some uncertain/unfortunate circumstances surrounding the current owner it is coming from, so I may be limited to only what I can discover about the vehicle prior to him obtaining it.... Like you mentioned, I too can only imagine there has to be some digital copies of the vehicles past documentation out there somewhere...
Apparently not correct for a W-27 diff. Those would be SV (3.23), SX (3.42) and SZ (3.91)....according to the info in Greg Rollins'/Supercars Unlimited's "442 By The Numbers" book.
