68 Cutlass 4 speed convertible
68 Cutlass 4 speed convertible
Car has been SOLD
I picked this up to part out a few months ago but decided it was too nice to cut up. It had been sitting for many years so we primed the motor, installed a new carb, points, cap & rotor, wires and battery and it started right up. It has an Edelbrock OL4B intake and Holley Street Avenger carb. Headers and dual exhaust.
The motor runs good and it will lot drive slowly but has no brakes.
Its a 350 4bbl manual steering, manual brakes. Originally a 3 speed car, now has a 4 speed and I think a posi rear. When I turned one rear wheel, it started to move the other wheel the same way but then stopped, so I believe its a posi but may be worn? Has buckets and console. The only other option in the car is/was power rear antenna.
The interior is shot and it needs a top. Dash, dash pad and lower dash plastic appear nice, no cracks or rust. The console is complete with the 3 speed top plate, never drilled for 4 speed but has a wear mark on the drivers side from incorrect shifter rubbing it. Glove box door is good as well. There is one small area chipped out of the passengers side of the glove box area on the console, nothing major and is repairable.
Trunk floor is nice with just some surface rust, no rust through. The rear floors are nice as well. Front floors on both the drivers and passengers side have rust with a piece of sheet metal screwed over those pans.
The car is original paint. Code E Nocturne Blue, but appears a greenish because of severe fading. There is repairable rust in both quarter panels, the passengers side door and both fenders. There is also rust in the radiator support under the battery. The kid that helps me out laid under the car and said the frame is good with only surface scale, no rust through anywhere. I couldnt fit my fat azz under there to scope it out myself though.
Honestly, if this car was a 69 I would keep it, do a top and interior, put some W-31 stickers on it and drive it as a tribute car as is. Its a pretty cool car with the patina it has.
Asking $4800obo
Car is located in NJ, 08722.
Any questions give me a call.

I was asked about frame photo's and if the back was all rotted out with holes. No holes just surface rust. The frame in in the back where they usually rust through here in the north is in good condition.
I cant believe this car has not sold yet. Its a 4 speed convertible thats only got 89k on the odometer and has never been bondo'd up like most. Its got solid bones and is a great starting point for someone.
