NOT MINE... obviously. Beautiful car, Mecum is estimating $90-110K.

Disrespect wrong choice of words. Popularity would be more appropriate. Nonetheless the price indicates popularity which is fine with me. 66-67 cars can still be had very reasonable. If they go up in value as they will its ok with me..😊

I knew Mecums guesstimates were way off. The highest I ever saw on an
L69 car was on BRING A TRAILER. It sold in low 70’s. They only 66 w30 that sold at auction was a frame off, sold at low 90’s I believe.
Thats the old Mr Black w30, now factory white with blue painted top.
59k plus fees is definitely on the very low side for a frame off bonafide L69.

Many frame off restored 66 l69 cars have far exceeded that. That was a deal, try doing one yourself and only spend 58k. Won’t happen unless you can do interior, mechanical restoration and body and paint. Most do some of this but certainly not all. That was a deal!!
The argument of try doing that yourself is a non-starter; you can't recoup restoration prices in sale prices. This is why no one buys projects anymore.
On BAT , they show past sales, very few proven L69 cars as you know. I have only seen two proven L69 cars actually for sale before this one. Mike Richards had a red one and don’t quote me but I believe he got high 60’s low 70’s several years ago. It was a National points car resto. For me it’s all about doing a lot of the work, that’s my hobby so buying a done pristine car isn’t in my DNA. I agree on project cars. However way too many have crazy prices on them and the owners think they got a lottery ticket. Here in town is a 66 442, original drive train, original paint, red, white gut. 4 speed car. Obviously the paint is rough, trunk pan holes, but overall a very complete car, runs good etc. Old cat thinks it’s worth 25k, I like the old dude and keep trying to help him sell it but it’s a 16-18k car, not 25..He will not here it..

I looked at that car too (the one off Verna Road) back in March when he first put it on the market. It wasn’t running at the time but the seller assured me that it just needed fresh gas. Yes, it is complete but given the overall condition I thought it was overpriced at $25k. I figured that even with body work and a low end paint job you’d likely have at least an additional $15k in it, not to mention any unknown mechanical issues. I thought about offering $15k for it but in the long run I was looking for something more turnkey. I see he’s dropped the price to $23k but that car is likely to sit in his yard weathering away for sometime which is a shame.
Here's some 1966 4-4-2 data, published July 3, 2024. I'll let the reader assess its legitimacy!

You trim those hoses to the correct length. Now, it may take a new molded heater hose to reach the correct nipple. The bypass hose may or may not get to the correct water pump nipple. But, it would be a pleasure to start out with a car that is going to take just this and a few other things under the hood and elsewhere to make it correct. It is an eye popper.
I am wondering if you see what I see regarding the rocket fender emblem paint?

I painted my black 66’s rockets like he painted his red one. From the factory, as far as I know, the inner edges were painted the body’s color. I would love to know of any factory exceptions that have been seen.

I know the car but never saw it. I sold them parts for it when it was ran into. What I'm saying is that if the bezel isn't painted body color it's probably repo's that came painted all black.
Thats a nuance that I’m unfamiliar with. Ya learn something every day with these cars.
