1987 Oldsmobile Cutlass 442! Cheap!

Here is a very original and extremely well taken care of, original paint 1987 Oldsmobile Cutlass (REAL)442!

Does it run and drive great? Yes, it does.

Is the car exceptionally clean? Yes!

Is it a perfect show car? No!

Has it been extremely well maintained since new? Absolutely!
In fact, It was just VA state inspected 12/08 and passed with no problems noted!

Does the a/c and all other accessories work? Yes, everything but the Cruise control and the volt guage is slightly off(but there are no charging system problems). Yes, even the power antenna works!

Does it have some rust? Of course.

Does it have the rare factory G80 code limited slip rear(unlike many 442's)? Yes, it does!

This is also the rare composite headlight 2 year only model(1987 & 1988 ONLY and VERY desirable).

This is a car you can get in and drive anywhere with confidence. Always maintained extremely well.

I am not aware of anything it needs to make a great first car or daily driver.

If you want a show car, you will certainly have cosmetic work to do to the exterior, but little else.

You won't find another like it for $4k!

how many miles are on the car?

are both doors rotted?

did you soak that motor down with armor all or silicone spray?

From what I have seen looking the car over, the only panel that I would replace(if I were considering restoring the car) would be the drivers door. It is my opinion that it is not worth trying to save and reuse(in a restoration situation). As far as any other panel replacement on the car, I would not because the other rust that I have seen would be too easy to fix with a small metal patch in those locations. Just my opinion.

Now, with that said, it really depends on what you want to do with the car. I personally think the car is a great, sporty driver that is alot of fun and mechanically, needs nothing. I would just drive and enjoy it.

This is a car you can enjoy for a long time and even part it out after years of enjoyment and get to drive it for basically nothing for all that time.

Don't think opportunities get much better than this. That is the point that I feel you are missing.

As far as the detail job, a friend of mine offered to do it to help me out. Not quite the way I would have preferred, but it is what it is.
