Yeah, with you guys on this. Question: Wouldn't chopping the roof lose the structural ridity of the body? Factory verts had a reinforced frame - wonder if this one had the frame modified to maintain strength and safety.

Thanks for the eloquently put statement! There are some people that need a lesson on diplomacy! But anyway yea some of these people are butchering these cars in order to get attention and then most want hi dollar to get the $20K plus they got into it. 
I seem to recall that the top looks very similar to a heat houser they put old tractors.

At first, didn't know what to think..... Then it hit me..... Without the metal roof, the scrap metal value just took a drastic reduction.......

Wow.
And, having done stuff like that once or twice, it DOES lose a lot of strength. Of course, Mr. Clever sometimes "strengthens" the frame:

For the structurally unschooled, adding a piece to the vertical part of an I beam or channel does very little for its strength.
BOXING it, or at least adding to the top and bottom rails, adds strength.

I'm usually the first one to criticize the Donk approach. Its another culture for sure. Actually it would be nice if GM offered this year in a vert. With the top down and normal sized SS3 wheels it doesn't look all that offensive. Loose the ostrich 442 too...Hopefully the dude tied off the frame correctly? I had a black on buckskin 78 with gold stripes & wheels. Now that would have been sharp with out a top.

Couldn't agree more. Wasn't 76 the last year of the drop top till 88? A whole generation of cars that could have been way cooler.
