1978 Cutlass v6 3spd in the floor.

I read the guide lines and hope I don't get kicked off. I thought this one may be of interest to others. So hope it is ok. This car is Located in Nixa, Mo. Close to Joplin, Mo. It is on Joplin Craigslist Post 5153218107. You don't see many standard models though these years. I think is was 1000.00.

Thanks for that. I know it is a low end car but kind of rare/ rarely seen...

3 speed Cutlass

Low end, low demand, and low parts availability for this drivetrain, harder to find than if it were a 4 speed manual and that's hard enough.

I question the low parts availability comment. The Buford V6 is probably the second-longest production life of any GM engine (behind the original SBC). The three speed Saginaw similarly was produced for decades. With the manual trans already in place, a four speed swap is easy.

78 V-6 3spd.

Regardless the choice of build a person would have in mind for this car. It is a 78 G-body with a standard trans. That aspect of the car was the only interesting part of it for me. If the dash was not cracked up and the body is as good as is looks in the pics it would be a very sweet sleeper. This would move with a mild built 350 olds or SBC. The trans could be a 3spd, 4spd, or 5spd the pedals are there. Throw some mild gears under it and have fun.

looks like it sold. I was watching g-body garage on you tube and he only buys standard shift G-body cars. He had a Malibu, Grand Prix and more Cutlasses. Have a good one. The numbers according to him are low on production numbers.

I show 621 3-speeds built, presumably on all bodystyles where it was available.

That is what keeps my fire going. Whether is it a high demand car or not I like seeing the oddball low number stuff more than the 442 or W-30.
