I’m selling my 1975 Olds Cutlass ‘S’. (Y76 Option)
I wanted to restore it to its previous glory but I don’t have the time or garage space. This would be a wonderful project for a father son/daughter. It practically has all the original parts. I can tell you that the engine never made it to 200k.
Here are the listed issues:
1 Severe rear engine oil seal ( never use engine cleaner solvent on engines with a rope seal!)
2 Engine is not seized. It will turn over. I can’t fire it up due to the oil issue
3 Powder steering pump needs to be replace
4 Transmission had been replaced once
5 Heater selection lever is broke
I’m opened to any reasonable offer
This would have been the intended goal

Reason: Lowered asking price
No worries not so important in the grand scheme of things. Your selling a Cutlass Coupe and you provided pics, that's what matters. Potential buyers need to do their homework also... In any case here is precisely what each body style looks like.
Well I checked the VIN #: 3G37K5M283165 ( you have to go to a site that will read 13 position vin numbers). The second code’G’ indicates Cutlass ‘S’. ( Attached) How strange. Perhaps Olds had a special production run. I’ll need to investigate.
If your car has chrome sport mirrors it's probably a y76 optioned regional car..they were based on the fast back body but had chevy sized opera windows..also came with salon steering wheel, the chrome sport mirrors, and a couple other goodies..
Generally not a lot options though ...
Agree with Bill G. GM would weld in a patch panel to block off part of the larger triangular shaped opera window. Seen this on the '74 Chevelles when they transitioned over from the '73's with the larger windows; presumably, to use up excess inventory during the model year changeover. When looking closely at the interior pic of the backseat area, it seems to show the triangular-shaped pads that they used to cover the blocked off part of the glass.
Price of $1K is very reasonable if the body is sound. Unfortunately, this gets into the price range of those who are looking for Dirt Track cars...or, worse yet, Demo Derby cars. Hope this one doesn't meet that fate. If I hadn't already rescued a rust free '75 Chevy Laguna S-3 from that very fate, I'd be interested in taking it on. Best of luck!

I stand corrected.
Chrome sport mirrors are present, and now after looking at pic again I can see what looks like a patch panel for rear quarter windows.
My rear windows do have a triangle metal patch welded in place.
There it is.
"The Y76 option package was based on the Cutlass 'S' model. Included in the option package were argent colored wheels, dual chrome sport mirrors, and the 'S' waterfall header. Most also had the small rectangular opera window and a half vinyl top. There were minor differences for each model year."
