1972 442 for sale?

http://kansascity.craigslist.org/cto/2861062640.html

Something.....actually several things, don't look quite right.

Your thoughts on this "442" for sale?

has a few things not original equipment and probably not a documented 442, but if he's flexible on price and if there's isn't rust that's not a bad car to buy and fix up.

Ive seen worse with sellers asking more.

I hear ya! This isn't even that bad of an example, but I've seen so many ads that list their "custom interior" as if it's a plus! I look at it as a negative...something I'd have to remove and replace!

Methinks it's a clone.

If you're looking for things that aren't 'right' on the car,
72 didn't have a trunk spoiler
72 442's don't have rocker moldings
steering wheel and upholstery are aftermarket jobs
looks like an aftermarket tach on the dash

Nice: it has AC
A51 buckets and console. That's the right hood. Stone shield needs replacing but looks like it has 442 grills. Looks like an original interior and the body looks fairly good with no evidence of *major* rust.

Wheels / tires I don't count - too easy to replace.
Other than that it looks like a nice car. For 4400? Could do a lot worse. I'd look past Donny's spelling if you're seriously interested in the car. Maybe get some better pics and vehicle history?
