Is the block original to the car? And is the carb correct for the application?

It only has an F not an FA next to the 396021 like the later blocks but may be an early 73 as the carb date is 2342, August 1972, I will have to look. The carb is a 7043251 which is correct for a 455. I have a set of E heads that will go with the car and a non egr 70-72 intake that I was planning on istalling as well. I forgot to post this in the original ad so I will edit it.

Looking for one and would love to have one for my W-31, do you have one or know somebody that does?! My W-31 had one originally and my paperwork documents that it had one. The center section cracked and it was replaced under warranty with a cast iron center section rearend.

oops didn't mean to get your hopes up, I have one under my car and remembered someone having the same one for sale recently, I'll see if I can remember. You don't see the 3.42s around much, at least I don't.

If I had a W-27 rear for sale I would not try to sell it here and I would not have it at the bottom of an ad for my SX asking to trade for one. I should know better than to get my hopes up with any comment made on the internet!

!

Sorry Brother, wish I did...just not in the market for one of those now. LOVE you backgrounds full of vintage Oldsmobiles though! Looks like an Olds Guys Dreamscape! An "Olds Farm!" Have you tried Craig's List at all?? I'm surprised you haven't sold it yet...Best of luck and keep us posted. Let me know if you've got any '84 or '72 Ninety-Eight parts for sale from your other projects etc. Take care.

You pretty much answered your own question right there. If people really want something, they will not let this get in the way. I do not know where you are in Michigan, but if you wanted this car, the 800-900 mile drive would not be that big of a deal. People just are not spending money right now, even if they have it. Everybody is waiting on the other guy to start spending his money and he isn't spending any either. I may eventually just have to part it out because I am tired of dealing with all the BS of trying to sell a car right now.
