Found it listed on another site. At least it's the same city!

I have seen this car for sale a year or so ago.... It seems to have been listed all over the place, Craigs, Racing Junk etc. Whoever had it then was unsure of it being a real W car but thought it could be from what it was and it was missing some key things while others seemed proof. The car needs some work and is a cool car but one would have to question the w31 aspect...

It wasn't the owner that started this thread. The other thread was started by the seller so maybe that was why the "admonishment." I am curious why a new large balancer and what happened to the factory large balancer. Pretty decent F85 and not overly priced but inquiring minds want to know and being Oldsmobile guys some of us are "thrifty." Jmo

I have known the seller for many years. He is a knowledgeable, long time Olds guy. He was looking for original W-parts to replace the missing W-parts. I provided an original W-intake manifold. I assume he could not find an original and/or reasonably priced original balancer.

OK It would seem to be priced fair by the majority here. Lets assume for the sake of argument it has the correct trans(JO) etc. All Matching but no papers Fair to say it is real. Keep in mind to find a build sheet or cert card in a W car is rare and often times suspicious.
Having said that.
NOW restore this car (Body Off) what it it worth then ?
I will continue my thought after some value guesses

With no paperwork, I don't think the chance of making money on this is really good; there is too much to fix (unless you know bodywork and do 98% on your own). However, I think this car is the perfect candidate for making a nice driver and knowing you have a good change at being an owner of one of the 54. I highly considered this car about 2 years ago when I saw it but put in the white flag when I was realistic with what I can do on my own. Since then, I think the owner did a great job getting some of the W parts and fixing some of the other cosmetic problems. I hope it goes to a good home and I bet everytime I see it I'll think, "What if I pulled the trigger..."
What is it's worth restored?

value
I would say $39500 USD fully restored #1 condition & $29500 USD in #2.5-3 restored driver condition. The bench seat column shift originality hurts the car.

To any potential buyer on this, unless this particular model/color hold some kind of historical significance for you...then restore nothing and enjoy everything. I've seen too many threads here where people say they are afraid to enjoy their ride or they don't use it as much as they would otherwise because they put it back to 100%. Get in, drive, and laugh. Like others have said the pricing seems good. Have fun!

I know the seller of this car . He lives close to me and he and I and Jim Stohlman have bought and sold cars and parts between us for over twenty five years. He has a passion for Oldsmobiles especially 66 - 67s . He just finished a 66 post coupe Tri carb 4 spd. that is absolutely beautiful. He is in the process of building a 66 post car to run nostalgia Stock/Super Stock with the 422 Allstars group. If you have any questions or concerns just ask him. He's a real Olds guy just quiet about it . Thanks--- Danny Lattimore NHRA 2247 D/SA

It looks like Astro Blue to me if the color on it now is supposed to be the original look. One of my favorite colors and it's a good thing it's located so far away......at a minimum I would have to go take a real close look.
Someone commented on the bench seat....to me that's a PLUS since it follows the overall "stripper" theme for the car....post coupe, non-AC, etc. Besides, a bench seat setup is lighter than buckets so the "basic" is the big appeal to me. Less is more in this case if you look at it from the "approach" or intent someone had in mind when they ordered this cool machine.
Besides, it has the taxi cab interior.....someone could buy it and sign up with Uber and make your money back driving folks to wherever they need to go....and get there fast!

Funny, someone's going to say that the seller didn't originally post this as a "for sale" thread, so the bashing & negativity is all perfectly fine. Bottom line is you're not doing any favors to a perfectly legitimate seller trying to sell his car. I'll just wish him g/l with the sale, and if I have any questions about the car, I'll ask him directly, and privately...
