I'm not sure how to spend that much on a restoration. I could put 100k into paint and body, and maybe 50k into powertrain rebuild, but I guess I'd have to buy NOS everything to get the remaining 600 some.

Roughly 50% markup That's purchasing the car, the parts, and labor to put a car together like that.
So $78.600 is what he has into it maybe before his labor. $119.442 asking price is him trying to make a small profit. Or he's an insane flipper fishing for the moon. It's crazy what a full-tilt resto goes for. 120 USD for a body off frame, nut n bolt resto isn't all that crazy especially if you add in $100-150/hr labor. If it was a rare exotic or a 20s coach-built car you could put another zero on that 120K.
