1970 442 pace car festival car

1970 442 festival pace car vin number 344670M296293 This pace car is one of 268 442 pace cars and 1 of 120 festival pace cars. This car was number 101 and assigned to the press pool. There were only 44 442 festival cars at Indy.
This car still retains its original engine but will need to be rebuilt since it has not been run and has been apart for more than 30 years. The car does have air conditioning and dual gate shifter. The interior was all original and was in very good shape but from being apart and not stored correctly it should be redone.
This car had 2 previous owners the person I bought it from bought it in the late 70s. The cars original owner was from Indiana then it came to Illinois. The car was driven by the previous owner until the mid eighties when it was taken apart. The previous owner was a bodyman and decided to restore it. The car had nos GM quarters put on it way back in the 80s and some of the bodywork was done and then sat for a long time. I believe the body and paint was finally finished about seven years ago and is done in base clear.. Some where along the way the original hood was stolen and a reproduction was installed it is a fiberglass with the steel back reinforced hood.nice quality driver car.

The pieces I know of missing are vwindshield, radiator and bumper brackets I looked at most the parts there may be more I missed. There are many new parts grilles, body bushings, emblems, headlight surrounds, steering wheel, license brackets, body bolt kits and more some nos and some repop. I was told by the previous owner both original bumpers were redone in show chrome.
This is a project car that had most the hard body and paint already done to be not concorse but a very nice quality driver car. I have many pictures if there is any interest, I am asking 22K John 630 333 8333

nice quality driver car.
