Thought you all might enjoy this one. The VIN comes back as a real 442, but I have so many questions.
The car is not far from me in Sherman, TX, if anyone needs someone to check it out. They are asking $49,500.

Hey, at least they got the valve covers on correctly! Seriously, it's a real 442 with four speed. The disc brakes are obviously added. The gold engine paint isn't uncommon, unfortunately, as non-Olds experts don't know about the bronze. The Ford fan warning decal is a nice touch. I always find it amusing that people spend the money on repro radiator hoses and spring ring battery cables on a car that is so far from correct that the money is wasted.
Admit it. You're posting this just to aggravate me, right?

It is really a nice car, and it appears to be really good work. There are just so many frustrating decisions made.
File this under "You had one job!" or "You were so close!" Just think about how much you would have to spend to correct all of the issues. It is sad.
So what is the most offensive part? The wing? The stripe?
In spite of the nit-picky stuff it presents really well.
Like NTXOlds says "There are just so many frustrating decisions made." Like the stripe: it's in the correct location, just the wrong year car,
. (Yeah, I notice the numbers are a bit too high on the fender, but they are not all the way up where they should be sans stripe.)

I said it in another post. I remember when people paid good money for true cars. Not dolled up dealer crap. Hey if someone thinks this car is worth fifty grand? Go get it. Auction cars have become anything that draws attention. Originality? Doesn't even matter anymore.

For a fifty grand asking price. You can question more than one thing. I like the undercarriage.
