If they want to send MORE than $34K in certified funds with an agent to come by and pick it up, I'd run.

IMO, although I believe it to be a 69 H/O, $34K is too rich for me based on what I've seen in the pictures. Something about that gold doesn't sit right with me. It just seems off for some reason. It may be staining on the trunk, who knows. Even if it were a repaint, that'd be ok as it still needs a repaint. Wouldn't detract from the car really.

If it were all original, I'd bet that at least part of the hood scoop decals would still be there. They originals were stuck like tattoos. They simply don't fall off. I know that doesn't prove anything, but I'd have to get up close and personal to that car. Then I could probably tell you.

I can see it its just hard to see at that angle. I still think that car is not original paint. Cars rust different with original finish vs repainted.

American cars are a big thing in Sweden. Maybe they will come through. Then it is going to cost probably $4,000 - $5,000 to ship it. Wow.

Honestly the camera did not do this H.O justice.
It's not as bad as it appears.
Sorry, but the rust around the back window and water damaged package tray says that there's quite a bit of the dreaded (and all too common) pinchweld rust. I'm guessing that the base of the windshield looks the same. That's expensive, invasive metal work, and could be worse, depending on where the water went after it hit the package shelf. If the seller can get anywhere near $34K, take it and RUN all the way to the bank.

I can see it now. Somebody buys this car, rebody's it with a Cutlass body and then here we go on another long thread. Maybe it should go to Sweden.

IMHO, original paint doesn't matter with the state that car is in, it's going to need a major overhaul either way. Ok, so it's original paint, does that mean you are going to leave it as is!?!? Original or 5 repaints, would have no bearing on that car to me with what is going to need to get done...

I would surely prefer to be the first one to paint or restore a car than one that has received significant work in the past. Just questioning the "100% original" comment. Original paint doesn't flake, peel, and come off in chunks like the above picture of the fender bottom & around the trunk lock. I suspect it has been repainted with bondo being the metal repair technique previously employed. If that is the case then the metal replacement required this time around will be significantly greater than what can be "assumed" from the pictures provided.

This. The car may still need everything but if its unmolested body then you can see exacty what you are getting in to.

The Old mans son told me this car was never repainted.....but after a long chat with the old man
he did have the H.O undergoe a light Restored in the early 90's.....so I WAS TOTALLY WRONG....

The bottoms of the fenders, qtr panels, & decklid are all rusted.
doors are good, rockers are good, fender aprons are good, firewall is good, trunk surround lip is good,
front windshield area is good.

I will have hi res pix today.

Should probably say, "Once restored these 'ask' for 6 figures", haven't seen a 100,000+ one sold in a while, and as we all know we shouldn't confuse BJ/Meccum/etc auction prices with real world street prices. Honestly, it's a 20K range car.
I agree, a neighbor of mine bought one 2 years ago for 35k and its a very nice original car. That being said, the 69 H/O is my favorite Olds muscle car. Good luck with your sale.

Well its safe to say I'm no computer wiz.
I have no idea how to add a link to the video of the H.O I made today.
I have it on youtube but I cant figure out how to copy and paste the address
to add it to the forum.

If anyone want to see the video please pm me your email and I will send it to you.

I have delt with several Sweeds on cars in the past. Most important thing to the ones I have delt with it rust. Hopefully for your neighbors sake the ones you are dealing with are not the same.

I'm interested in the car for around $28K if that will buy it! I have the funds available and can send a truck to pick it up this week. Please send me the video and hi res pics to me ASAP.

Thanks, Jeff

Thanks for posting! Waiting to hear if the swede's bought it or if it's still available. A shame to see a rare car like that sit in someone's driveway and wither away. $28K is more than i want to spend but has a good story and it needs to be restored. I'm stepping up to the plate so will see what happens.

Not that it matters now, but a few big things I noted on the walk around. While I believe it's a real H/O, I don't believe it's all original as claimed.

-It's either running rough or there's a bigger cam than the original. I vote cam. It sounds pretty mean though.

-The specific intake manifold seems to be missing

-It definitely has been re-painted somewhere along the line. Typical rookie mistake of taking the fender chrome off, then using the clip studs to mark the top of the paint stripe line on the sides. Evident at 50 second mark in the 2nd vid. What this does is split the chrome strip so when you look at the door chrome for example, the stripe is partially up underneath the chrome. Originally the chrome was taped off and the paint came up to just underneath the chrome strips. Some cars poorly taped even showed gaps of white between the bottom of the chrome and the top of the stripe. If original, it should look something like in the pic below.

Of course, you never know what you could find hiding under a car cover....

Not to hijack this thread, but this last pic (the H/O conv.) reminded me of a Rallye 350 I saw in Florida. It was so bad, I was afraid to touch ANYTHING, for fear it would disintegrate. The hood was 1/2 open and I tried to move it up or down, and I was afraid it was going to break in half---metal and all.

I dunno. I would hope that would be a clone because if anyone did that to a real one, they should be beaten with a tire iron until their anus was located next to their ear.

2 originals, 1 replacement, 3 cars, 3 vin's documented, if someone comes up with "more" they will need heavy provenance/documentation.

The old man is very stubborn ...
He's still has his mind set at $33k.

However to be really honey with you I would say your
Offer of $28k is very respectable...

I will throw it his way again tomorrow and let u know

I assume many folks saw the 69 H/O's at Indy Mecum

They sold two H/O's at the recent Indy Mecum (while I was watching). One sold for 75k, had loads of documentation and had been restored by a top GM restoration shop several yrs ago (looked new though). So, why pay 30k plus for a H/O that a top shop would charge 80k to restore vs just paying the same for a documented 69 high end restored H/O? I have a 70-442 convertible that I over paid for and then had 50k plus invested towards a restoration. Bottom line, unless you have a ton of restoration talent and time, always let someone else pay the loads of cash needed to make a worn out car like new again. Don't get me wrong, I hope that car gets the needed 80k restoration, but only if you are ready to likely lose on the investment. Of course, most of us have these cars restored for the love of certain cars, not to make money. Just understand the rationale and expense upfront.

Second video, pause at 17 seconds. major clearcoat peel. Car looks like it will need every panel attended to and along the windows, roof and ??!! Man what a shame. Here is a candidate for a rebody, and if you show before pics I don't think anyone would argue it but now it will never be worth what a perfect original bodied car would be.
