It's a good thing you can't see both side of this car at the same time.

On the passenger side, the top of the 442 emblem is (more or less) aligned with the top of the front wheel arch.
On the driver's side the bottom of the 442 emblem is aligned with the top of the wheel arch.
The passenger side is correct.
The seller says the paint is "believed" to be original, but if it is, why would the emblems have needed to be removed? But whatever reason they were removed for, you'd think one of the most basic things you would have checked when reinstalling them is to make sure they're in the same place on each side, even if that place is wrong.

And what else? I notice it says the owner believes those wheels are original to the car. Not so! It also talks about it being rated in one place at 350hp, in another place 360hp. The standard 4-4-2 engine with THM was rated at 325hp. I'm sure there are other inconsistencies but those two stuck out in my mind.

There are a lot of inaccuracies in the auction description that the owner claims ignorance to. Not only do the paint and wheels appear to not be original, the engine is painted gold (description says engine compartment has been untouched). Another flag for me was the shift indicator in the speedometer. So either the car was converted to floor shift or the speedometer was swapped out from a column shift car at some point. I asked the question of the seller in a private message and again, he claims ignorance. Says that the cars appears to have come from the factory with the floor shift. No cowl tag photo posted.

In spite of this car's problems, the bidding is up to $22,500 with the reserve met and the auction ending later today (about 5 hours from this writing).

Hemmings will extend the auction end time to allow for last minute bidding. You may have seen two bidders trying to outdo each during the last hour. There was only one real winner here... and that's the seller!
