Seeing as how I have recently lost my job, I must part ways with my baby.
I will look at offers.
I have 176 views, yet no one has responded.
Would anyone like to give their "2 cents" as to the value of a '68 Cutlass S Convertible?

Thanks,
Erik

I think your asking price is fair. The car has some issues, but it's a convertible, and you've done a lot of things to it already.

Are you advertising it anywhere besides here? For all the activity this site gets, I think it's nothing compared to the exposure you'd get putting the car on, for example, craigslist and ebay.

Thanks jaunty75.
I have it advertised on Craigslist here in Los Angeles.
I tried ebay last week, but to no avail.
I will try again.
The issues are easily remedied.
Isn't this a potential $18,000-$20,000 car?

First, I don't think all of the issues are "easily remedied." The car has rust behind the wheels. Yes, you have the parts and all, but, to me, "easily remedied" means something I can do in an afternoon for $20.

Yes, according to the price guides, in showroom condition, this car has a value in the $20,000 range. In "car show" but not showroom condition, the value can range anywhere from probably $13,000 to $18,000, depending. Given the issues your car has, I don't think it's quite at the "car show" condition level, but it's not far off.

As I said, I think your asking price is right in line with the fact that it's a convertible, which always adds value, that has had some improvements done to it but still has to go some (new top plus fixing the mechanism, rust repair, repaint) to be all the way there.

more pictures of the '68 Cutlass Convertible

Thanks guys.
I agree with you jaunty75, "easily remedied" is subjective. Someone out there can easily pull the fenders, cut the bad metal out, weld the new metal on, prep, and bolt back on. I was quoted $650 for both fenders and the rocker.
It truly is a nice car. It drives great. It's a convertible. It's straight, doesn't need much, and that original Willow Gold is a beautiful color with a black top.
Hey oldcutlass, "not a bad price" is a reasonable assessment.
I don't want to give the Cutlass away, but I am willing to part with it for a "good price" for someone to finish her.

I neglected to add:
New windshield wiper motor not yet installed
Gas tank professional cleaned
New front wheel bearings

Make me a reasonable offer!
