1967 Olds 98 LS 400E engined
I have for sale my 1967 Olds 98. The C headed 400 engine in this car may interest a buyer. The engine has been in this car for 40+ years to the best of my knowledge. Two older gentlemen owners for it's first 39 years. Engine runs perfect, car drives great. I wouldn't be afraid to take it on a 1000 mile trip. If one is serious about buying it I will tell you more over the phone, too much to type. Now about the car, painted 2006. New vynal top, rechromed rear bumper, new mint fender skirts. Body, floors, trunk great shape. Less than 1500 miles on tires. Never hot rodded. The reason I am selling is I have way too many cars. I have had "urban" guys asks if I would sell it the few times I have had it out. I said no because in the back of my mind, I had thoughts of finding a 442 with the incorrect engine. I have decided to put those thoughts on the shelf. First option is to see if the car sell with the engine in it. I am asking $10,000. I saw an ad for a "rebuilt" long block 400E that had been sitting for years for $5000. This car/engine runs perfect. Buy it and drive it home but after a trip in this 1967 LS you may fall in love with her and sell your 442. The #s on the distributor are 1111151 7B9 The carb #'s are RP 29865 and the round tags are 7027156 RH K6 ,, Side of bottom carb plate 0278. If it doesn't sell my second option will be to put a 425 in her and sell to an urban guy. If I pull the engine, it will NOT be for sale. It will switch places with the 425. Hey, then I might look for a 442. PM me if you are really interested, we'll talk on the phone. Ken

TTT Perfect running C-headed 400 engine. It doesn't smoke or use oil, very "peppy!" This engine doesn't need rebuilt. Shine it up and put it into your 442. I will throw in a set of rebuildable B-heads so it could be correct for a 1966 442 also. All this engine needs is a can of spray paint. Take the little Mrs on a weekend trip to Braceville, Ohio. You can take this car for a drive and see and feel for yourself. I'll put it up on the lift so you can really look it over. Suggest to the little Lady that it could be your Christmas present to each other. Hey, it's better than a puppy. You get the engine and she can have a 98 to drive to the craft/car shows. A win-win situation for both of you. Start planning your trip! Ken

ttt Well, I dug out an engine from the pile and put it on a stand. The engine is a 1967/425/4-barrel. It came out of a 67 Delta and ran smooth/quiet. I am planning to take it apart, check bearings, new rings/valve seal/ clean it up. Just getting ready if "Grey Ghost" doesn't sell soon. If I change the engine I will sell it locally. It's got that nice large trunk, hmmm, I see a big "system/hydraulics" in her future. Maybe "22's," and don't forget the graphics! I hope someone saves my "baby" from this fate. I guess it's better than the demolition derby! Later, Ken

TTT "pre-Christmas special" $8,500. She has a perect running "442" C-headed 400 E engine, plus I "throw" in a set of B heads. Spoil the "little" Mrs' with this Christmas present and snag the engine for your 442. This engine runs perfect and has been "babied" for over 40 years. Later, Ken
