1965 starfire for parts or restore

Hey guys, have this 65 starfire for sale for restore or parts. Still has the 425 and the 400 trans. Car is pretty much complete. Asking 1500 already dropped 500 from original price. Just wouldn't have time to get it and hate to see it sit.

Oldsrocket88, you have a 65 Dynamic 88 as well as 65 starfire convertible. Can you confirm they share the same window sweeps, chrome included? I ordered some sweeps from a company and they sent me 1964 model sweeps instead. Obviously didn’t fit. Then they said they don’t have 65 starfire convertible sweeps and that they made a typo when they said 65 and thus I’m stuck with the original ones I’d already pulled off. However, they do say they have 1965 dynamic 88 convertible sweeps and I’m thinking they’re the same thing as the 1965 starfire convertible. Should be anyway, unless there’s some change in the chrome. Am I mistaken?

Cald1973, I'm not 100% sure because both my Starfire and Dyn 88 are under restoration right now and the trim is removed on both and the one for the Dyn 88 is wrapped and packed at the moment. But my guess would be yes. The question falls on the outer chrome finish options... the Dyn88 my just be a "finish bead" of chrome where the Starfire may have an actual stainless chrome trim on it or vise versa. The only way to tell for sure is to check part numbers...I'm gonna say that they are the same ....mine appear to be.

Oldsrocket88 I just ordered them so I’ll let you know when they come in. I’m 99.9% certain if the fit the dynamic they’ll suit the starfire

As an FYI these sweeps include interior bead chrome but not exterior stainless. You retain that and match it up with the new felts. The interior chrome beads aren’t different and the door size shape etc all the same. I’d be really surprised if they fit one and not the other.

Hey Cald1973, how did those window sweeps turn out? did they fit correctly?
