Agreed it needs some work but it looks to be very restorable. It looks to have original paint with surface rust. Somebody could make a nice car out of this one. It looks to have been sitting for some time. It would be good to know if the engine runs or even turns over. Otherwise I think $4,500 may be a little high. JMO.

Yes. Motor should run. Original motor and trans were rebuilt about 5 or 6 years ago. Three and a half years ago our shop burned down. So the project was put on hold till now. The car was about 6 feet away from shop. The passenger door and quarter glass and windshield are broken because of that. But the wing window didn't get hurt. Back glass and all driver side is good. The firemen kept car doused with water and there is no damage to the sheet metal accept lead from roof to the back quarter melted out on passenger side. Non of the chrome is damaged, even piece that goes on back quarter window is still good and still has rubber seal. The paint is even still there on the passenger side, but does have some heat damage. The black chunks here and there are pieces of the tarp garage the car was in. As they melted they fell down on car. I got car out this weekend and motor has all new hoses, belts and new battery too. My next step will be to clean it up and get it running. I want to sell it, so I thought I would throw it on here to sell as a project. Once it's a driver I might just keep it

Good point-starr88. wonder if it does run, like to see close up of the quarters to see indeed if the heat from the fire got to it, also the frame and the chrome trim on the inside of the door panels. That would cost what a 1k to have it shipped to Dallas?

It's an "interesting" car but it's a "who-to" collectable. People will say it rare, neat etc, an it is to a small group of Oldsmobile guys. Twenty years ago, I was one of them. The people this car appeals to (enough that they'd pull out the cash) is a dwindling small number because 1, they're getting old and 2, they already have enough cars and 3, see #1 plus it's a money pit project and a lot of work without recouping money/time. I'd try the $4,500 for a week and drop it $500 a week till someone flashes the cash. Car needs a new Daddy soon and I hope someone opens their wallet. Second option, ignore my first option and ask more or hold firm on the price. This car needs a lot. "Should run/trans rebuilt" maybe, maybe not. Jmo. Good luck

X2 Kennybill. I'm just about ready to get the 64 F-85 on the road and should not be even looking at this car. ( but I am ) This is a big year 2019-downsizing and moving to a much smaller habitat and have the option to retire in June. Cannot spend the $$$ on these old cars....when the money spigot gets turned off if I choose t retire.
