Very nice! Didn’t know a vinyl top was available for the Cutlass back in 65.

According to the SPECS booklets, 1966 was the first year for RPO C08 vinyl roof covering. The chrome trim was used on the D99 two tone cars to separate the roof color from the lower body color. The cowl tag would prove or disprove how it came from the factory. Trim shops sold aftermarket vinyl roof coverings in the 1960s and 70s.

After vinyl tops came out in 66 it was common for people and dealers to have them installed by trim shops as Joe mentioned. I do think it looks good on this car though. I wonder what the tag shows for a paint code.

Not surprisingly, I'm guessing this car has already sold. Link states the author has already pulled the Ad.

It could be code D which would be Lacerne Mist, although in the picture it appears a little darker than the stock color. The pie pan looks like it’s for a 2 barrel carb
