1963 Jetfire

Not Mine, but definitely one of the nicest out there and one of about 5 running /driving 4 speed Jetfires.

I saw this listing a couple of days ago, super cool car! You don't see a whole lot of Jetfires around, and that one is sure pretty.

I know the car. It would be a great car to buy if you were in the market for one. When we were in LA back in January I wanted to stop in and visit but he was to far out of the way. He repainted it and it was a totally rust free car before he did so no poor quality body work. It is one of the very rare factory 4 speed cars. I think we are at 10 or 11 factory 4 speed 63's known of. The turbo was rebuilt by Jim Noel so that should all work correct. This guy has bought some high end parts from me before so I would want to believe he was that way with the entire car. I am curious where it goes for price. It will be the first publicly auctioned car since the Leno video. There has been more of these cars sell in the past 10 months than in the past 5 years I think, lol. All of them were private sales.

Another, much rougher Jetfire. Advertised as a 4-speed, but not sure if it is factory. Eric May have some idea. Seems pricey for the condition.

Obviously I cannot get the link to work. Sorry about that. The car is listed on FaceBook and is located in North Carolina. Pops up if you type in “Oldsmobile Jetfire” in a marketplace search.

I am the seller. I relisted it with a buy it now/best offer format. Only a few of these out there with Rebuilt and Working Turbos, it cost about $4000 to rebuild the Turbo/Carb, Metering valve, and Jim may be retiring soon. I have restored 3 Jetfires and and very well versed in them. You may find one to restore, but they are very difficult to restore and parts have dried up. Some parts are impossible to get.
There are still people out there who never heard of a Jetfire. Only one auction result for a 63 4 speed, was at Mecum Indy way back in 2017. Sold $60k with fees. My car is way better then that one.

That Mecum car was a 4 speed but I am not 100% sure it was factory. It also had a 1961 low compression engine block with 62 turbo heads and the transmission was for sure not the original to the car. It was a pretty nice car in general but not even close to what yours is.

Saw your car at San Marcos High School car show last year. It was meticulous! Really cool to see that piece of history preserved so well.
