Remove W 30 emblem

I bought a 72 Cutlass / 442- You know what I mean. I know someone put all the 442 emblems on this cutlass. That's not to bad, but they put on a W 30 emblem on the fender. I don't like that and so do other people I'm finding out. If I can remove it, Is there something else I can put in it's place. There will be holes there i'm sure. Just anything olds that would look good.
Thanks Barb.

Seems like a "W31" emblem would fit ok!

but seriously, the proper fix will be painful, maybe just leave it alone and to heck with folks that "don't like it".

Or... glue an "X" onto the VIN tag
Voila' now it IS a W30!

Thanks, I know the 72 is the most vulnerable year for this. I think there has to be twice as many 72 442's out there that were not ordered that way. Of course the price of the 72's reflex that. You're probable right to just leave it alone. Barb.

You could do what I have done.
At a show last year, a couple of guys (with O.C.A. jackets) came briskly walking up to my car to have a look at what they thought was a '71 442 W-30 convertible. (the previous owner cloned it in every way possible)
After they saw the VIN, they looked at each other, shook their heads in a disappointed, almost disgusted manner, and walked away.

After that my wife and I came up with the idea of putting a small piece of paper on the dash, under the VIN, with the words 'But it looks good.' at the next show.

Now, people who know Olds and the VIN codes, get a chuckle out of it. LOL
