1969 Cutlass S Drivers Side exterior door handle screw missing

I've just noticed that one of the screws holding the exterior thinner part of the door handle on the drivers side is missing. I've chipped the paint a little bit because of it but that'll be fixed with a little nail polish courtesy of one of the posts here As a newbie to car repairs in general I have a silly question but here goes.

1. When I remove the door panel will I also have to remove the glass to try and get to that screw hole?

2. What size screw should I use to replace the one that's missing?

Thanx again for any and all assistance. Cheers.

You shouldn't have to take the glass out.
The screw is a hex head 1/4-20 X 1/2".

Use some Loctite on the threads to keep it from loosening up again.
I think they used a thread locker on them factory?, at least there's always some yellow stuff in the screw threads on the ones I've taken apart.

...and when you remove the door panel, you just might find that screw laying in the bottom of your door!
