1963 cutlass brake help,,

Dear Forum,
I am new to the game and also the proud owner of a 1963 f85 cutlass 2 door. I am wanting to upgrade to disk brakes and 5 lugs where I can install some 17's and low wide tires. Any suggestions ? Also where is the best place to look for parts for this car in general. I have found out a 63 is kinda a odd duck. Any information would be appreciated.

Thank You , John Fugate

John, you might want to look a little more closely into the idea of 17" wheels. I know they make lightweight wheels now but the tires still are made of the same rubber that they always have and that is a lot of weight on the front bearings. Those f85s were small cars. If you do get a conversion make sure the spindles are nice and stout and that you convert the ball joints and change all the bushings as well.

I will be starting a full disc break conversion on my 1957 Olds in about 2-3 weeks. I have all of the parts and will do a detail photo shoot and write up a build sheet for the conversion. The manufacture of the product lives three miles from me and will be on sit part of the time to tweak the product. Stay tuned for more info.
