Touchy Brakes

My 1963 Starfire's brakes are too sensitive. The car stops nice and straight. Is it normal for these cars to be so sensitive when stopping? It is very hard to keep from locking up the brakes. I have to be very very careful with my foot pressure to stop normal.
Any ideas what could cause this?
I remember driving cars back in the 60's and the brakes were more sensitive than todays but I don't remember them be this touchy.

Yes, power brakes. I'll have to check for a part # on the master cyl. but it looks like the one in the manual.

Those early sixties cars have VERY touchy power brakes.

Drive it for a while, get a bit more used to it, and see if it still bothers you.

I had a 62 Buick LeSabre with PB back in late 60's. I remember the brakes being kind of touchy but this Starfire is almost impossible to keep from locking them up, especially if it hasn't been driven in a week or so. There must be something wrong, just have to try to figure it out.
