rear disks for 69 442

I'm thinking of adding rear disks to the Olds. I want to keep the original wheels. Can anyone recommend a kit, or more importantly recommend ones to stay away from. Thanks

I've done a front disc conversion on my '69 S and a front disc rebuild on my '69 442. Both times used parts from the Right Stuff Detailing. I've been extremely happy with the quality of parts, cost and service.

Depending on which wheels you have, keeping them may not be possible.

Fazer my car had the 4 wheel disc brake conversion done just prior to purchasing. CPP is the kit, it works well. Overall though I don't think the car feels like it stops any better than a well maintained G - Body with disc brake front and drum rear.... I did have a scare earlier this year, side by side with another car waiting at a light. Light goes green we both took off hard, no racing just wanting to get to our destinations in a timely fashion. Someone ran the light very late across from left to right. I was on the right on our side of the intersection and didn't see the car till it was dead in front of me. The 69 stopped in time ! I was shook up and very impressed at the same time. It was close, drum and drum and I'm thinking disaster.

Rims can be an issue and were on my car. She came with 15 x 7 SS IIs/IIIs the rear needed spacers to clear. With my new aluminum 15s no issue, no need for spacers. It has to do with the original Olds rims construction....

P.S. the A-Body kit for my car was made up of late 70s Camaro front brake parts and Mid 80s Cadillac rear brake parts....(at least the pads)

FYI, the second gen F-body cars use the same D52 calipers and pads as do the 1969-77 A-body cars, so those are the same as were OEM with factory front disc brakes in 69.
