Picking a booster to go with Master cylinder

Picking a booster to go with Master cylinder
I made the mistake of buying just a master cylinder for my disk brake conversion, rather than a master and booster together. I thought I might re-use the original booster, but have given up on that idea. Now I find myself stumped by the listings in the Rock Auto catalog and elsewhere as they list multiple boosters with different pushrod lengths. I have also looked at the listings at Inline Tube which seem simpler- Pick a diameter, 8" or 11" and it looks like they supply two different pushrods to accommodate whatever master is installed. This is for my '66 Toronado which I am converting to '69-'70 disks with single piston calipers, so correctness and originality is unimportant. Will the choice of booster have an effect on the pedal effort? Can I choose a booster that will give a modern pedal feel instead of the over-boosted, super sensitive GM brakes of the era?
Suggestions and experiences here are greatly appreciated!

I did the same thing-picked a master and then chose a booster. What I did is I got a 72 Cutlass dual master cylinder from Rock Auto and then chose an 8 inch GM Booster with a PB length rod. Car is not in the street, still under construction. This is for my 64 F-85 Pro-Touring build.
