Booster color 70 S
I also have a 1970 Cutlass S 350 2bbl with the original booster. Below are a couple pics of mine before restoration: pretty tarnished/rusted, but the areas that were "protected" from the elements (master cylinder attach, firewall attach) looked to be that zinc dichromate (gold) plating. The last picture shows it after replating.
I sent mine to a guy in California: Steve Gregori of BrakeBoosters.com. He rebuilds the booster as well as replating it, the master cylinder cover, and the proportioning valve bracket. I think a number of people on this forum have sent their boosters to him. You might check with him about shipping charges, it might not be too bad if you can't find a local service. Here's a link to Steve's website:

isn't it technically cadmium plating and they do make paints that you can buy that do a decent job of imitating the color (three can process - YearOne has it), it tends to have a greenish sometime redish tint to it. Though I tested a few metallic golds on my jack post and from two feet away you would think it was re-plated.
