Has anyone had any experience converting from the old 63 88 booster to a 8 inch universal brake booster, any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

My advice would be to use a larger booster if possible. Remember that the brake "boost" comes from engine vacuum. Since that is fixed, changing the area of the booster diaphragm changes the maximum "boost" available. A 9" booster has 25% more diaphragm area than an 8" booster, and thus about 25% more assist force. An 11" booster has 90% more diaphragm area and force than an 8" booster. The exception to this is dual diaphragm boosters.
