Over the years I have been collecting parts for my car and setting them aside until it was ready for the street. I bought them as being for 1970-1972 A body (455 with Turbo 400 trans, power brakes, front disc and back drums) but took the word of the sellers as to application. At any rate, I usually have time verifying from the multiple numbers on the parts boxes. Since I will be working on the brakes this summer, I was hoping someone here could verify these few parts that I have. Any info/verification of application will be appreciated. Thank you! The photos are below: Rear wheel cylinder boxes Rear wheel cylinder pic1 Rear wheel cylinder pic 2 Front caliper hoses box (no pic of hoses) Front disc brake pad box on left Front disc brake pad Rear brake shoe box Rear brake shoes
Those rear wheel cylinders are 7/8" bore, which is correct for the 1970-72 cars except flattop wagons (15/16") and Vistas (1.0"). Shoes and pads are correct. Hoses are correct. You're good to go.
The car has the original brakes on it from 1981, I believe so they are due. The old system seems to work well but after this many years the need refurbished. Until last year I'd only driven it 17 miles. Not sure how many miles were on it when my brother bought it in Texas! He just said about 35,000 miles! When I bought it from him in 1997, it had approx 47,000 miles on it!
