1967 Cutlass CS Front Disc Brake Conversion

I have a 1967 Cutlass CS Holiday Coupe with power drum brakes. I would like to convert the front to disc. Do I need a new brake booster and master cylinder, or can I use the current ones if they are still operational?

It is only about $200 difference in price, so should I just suck it up and buy the conversion kit that has a new master cylinder and 11 inch AC Delco booster?

I think my real worry is what it takes to install a new booster.

Thanks!

Your booster will work but not the master.

If you use 69-72 disc brake parts you can get it all on rockauto.com and save even more.

Changing a booster is actually very easy. 4 nuts on the firewall side and a pin inside as well as the lines to the master and you are done.

Hope this helps
Larry

I was looking through and found this question about a 67 CS. I have a 67 442 CS that has manual 4 wheel drum brakes and I would like to convert to power and front discs. Is the same information above regarding getting 69-72 parts from rockauto.com still my best bet as well?

Thanks,
Jack
