Pulling wiper arms from 64 dynamic 88
I am going to pull the wiper arms off my car. It looks like they only need to be pried off with a large flat head. ...Is there a pin to remove or something that needs to be compressed with a pliers.
I am removing the screen cowling in front of the front window to have the screen repaired and to repair the wiper arm. I don't care about damage to paint.
Simple task but those are the ones you screw up the most.

there is no latch to keep the arms up, therefore the spring is always pressing the arm against the glass.... there is a tool to work against the spring and ease the task, but I have always worked the bottom end up first- the end away from the arm- and let it spring up. That little tang does need to be released. Use a wide friendly pry tool.
And of course never, ever put any grease on that splined shaft to ease future disassembly. Unless that seems like a good idea.
well there is that tool- please wear a digital watch on the right wrist when using it!
