I have an early production (January) 1970 442 and had a question about the front inside edges of the hood. Mine appear to be notched out, where they all likes this? with the molding on the bottom edge sits fairly flush but the top has an 1/8 of an inch gap between the molding and hood. Both sides of the hood are shaped the same way, so I am fairly certain it came from the factory this way as the molding have never been off the front of the car, and the hood has never been repaired. The notching (cuts) are really clean. It is tough to see in this picture, so I will see if I can get another tomorrow.
