1970 Cutlass Supreme Front Fenders

Hey Guys,

Pardon the ignorance, this is my first project car and I'm a hobby mechanic at best...

I know the rear quarters are skins so I would have to either do patch panels or weld on all new quarters for the rust around the wheel lips but are the front fenders bolt on's?

OPGI and several other companies have the patch panels for the front fenders as well but for the price a shop will charge for welding and finishing, it may be more cost effective just to replace the front fenders and save my money for the rear quarters and the full trunk pan replacement that I need to do.

Yes, the front fenders bolt on to the car.

I don't know how "correct" you are building this car but, while the outer appearance of the 70-72 fenders look the same, there is a small difference that you can see when the hood is open. There is a ledge or approximately 1 wide strip that runs front to rear on the fender that is located below the side edges of the hood when the hood is closed. On the 70 fender, this strip of metal is flat. The 71 and 72 fenders have little bumps every few inches in the metal along this strip. They are early crumple zones.
As I said, the fenders will look the same with the hood shut. But, if a 71/72 fender is installed on a 70 car, someone that knows this info will be able to tell that the fender has been replaced if the hood is open.
ALL reproduction fenders are the 71/72 style fenders with the bumps.
