NEED HELP! 1970 Front End Assembly

Hey guys! I'm in need of some guidance. I recently purchased my first Cutlass that I am restoring and I was under the assumption that I own a '72 as that is what imy VIN matches as and its on my title. However after ordering all the front end parts I've come to realize that the core support and basically the whole front end seems to be that of a '70 (after research online and this site). I've determined that the grille isn't interchangeable but does anybody know if the headlight housing and bezels would fit? It would save me some money having to purchase new ones! Thanks guys!

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news - the headlight setup on 70 is completely different from 71/72. Can you post any pics of the problems you're running into?

If you have all new replacement 71/72 front end parts, you'll need to change out the rad support to make everything fit right UNLESS you're installing 442 grills. If you are, then the 71 and 72 rad supports will work.

re VIN. Does it start out something like 3G87, 3F87, 3J57, 3J67?

Hey Allen,

Sorry I haven't gotten back to you sooner. I realized my car indeed had the core support of a 70. It's a 72 and the hood is that of a 72, so this was going to causing me a huge headache as i would have to get a new core support. As you can see in the photo luckily we were able to make it work and fit the parts on there through some customization. It works for now; later on down the road when means are better, I'll get the correct core support. I verified through a vin decoder that it is indeed a 72. Thanks for your help!
