Attached is a picture of the right side of the Delmont 88 with the exterior door handle removed and in black epoxy primer. We're getting there....

The Plan

I plan on shaving the door handles and trunk lock. There will be no antenna or side chrome--aside from the Delmont 88 425 emblems on the front fenders and around the window areas. The exterior will be painted late model Corvette red and parts of the engine compartment will match, and parts of the engine compartment will be late model Mustang GT silver (my father-in-law built a 53 GMC on a 4 wheel drive chevy frame and two toned it in these colors and it is beautiful). The wheels will be something modern--probably 16" to 18"--I'll make the decision when the car is painted.

I'm up in the air about the interior. Since it will be a custom I might just go to a junkyard and get some nice high back buckets and a rear seat that is close in size and modifying the side panels to blend into the car.

The engine will be a used 455 block (which I have) and I'm not sure if I'll be using the forged crank and high compression pistons out of the 425 or using the 455 crank and buying pistons.

My goal is to create a custom with a fair amount of power for playing. Something you can drive every day or take to a show. We'll see....
