Is it possible to find brand new body trim for my 71 cutlass???? I must have looked on 20+ web sites and i cant find them no where. im talking about the trim along the bottom sides of the car and the front and back trims have the side lights in them......... does anyone know where i can find them or does anyone have a new set that they would like to part with???

 

The "side lights" are called side marker lamps and they are a common repro part....you must have not been looking in the right places. Fusick Auto, ThePartsPlace, Inc and all the other Olds repro parts places carry the new repro side marker lamps.

You'll probably need to find good used trim for the long piece that runs along the bottom of the car...I assume you mean the "rocker panel moulding".

Can you post a picture of where the part is supposed to go??

 

Or are you talking about the Cutlass Supreme side trim? When you said the trim runs around the side marker lights, is this a wide trim that runs straight down the sides of the car and surrounds both the front fender and rear quarter panel lights? Can you give us a little more information or even post a picture of your car and the location of the trim your looking for? John

 

It's gonna be NOS or good western used chrome. No reproduction that I'm aware of. NOS is no longer easy to find and can get expensive, depending on who's peddling it.

Be careful when you describe what you need as Olds had other trim packages on different cars. Take a look at the pic's. You will see the wide chrome trim below the door on the white Supreme, as oppose to the similar trim you need that is above the rocker panel on this red car. May be just the slight difference between 71 and 72?

 

yea i didnt really realize that im new to the oldsmobile game but i feel in love with my cutlass and i wana treat her rite.....so its only rite that i dress her up lol but i looked on billions n trillions n i cant find em on the web site..... mayb if i call em n talk 2 em on the phone they can help me

Try 442.com, someone there has the trim for a '70 Supreme, they may be the same, but I am going from memory, I had a '70 SX over 30 years ago, and have a '71 Supreme now. If that doesn't work, on the same site look for ros6872, he has plenty of parts for these cars and I have bought from him a couple of times. I have heard bad things about billions and trillions..so beware.
