1969 Cutlass Fender repair (Inner Brace)

Hey Fellas, I have rust in the usual place behind the front wheel on the fenders, I bought the patch panels, and I am comfortable to use these pieces for repair, the issue is one of the inside braces is rotted too, I saw how copper made a piece and repaired his, I was wondering if the braces from a 1969 chevelle would be similar enough to use? I haven't found anyone who repops them? any advice would be greatly appreciated!

The Chevelle pieces do not work. I remain frustrated with the repro houses, since obviously the dies to stamp the repro braces exist - they come as part of the repro fenders that are available. None of the vendors wants to sell the braces separately.

Years ago I used the upper part of a donor opposite side inner brace to fabricate the lower. I also fabricated a patch to the other part of the rusted lower and welded it all back together. The piece wasn't as wide as the factory one but it served the purpose

That's not the problem. Eddie has patch panels but needs the full height inside braces. I don't think any patch panels come with them.

I should have been clearer in my post there are two sources for patch panels one quite nice the other not so much.
We were unable to locate a replacement brace but it was easy enough to fabricate a new bracket out of sheet metal as it is not that difficult to copy.

Eddie:
I have some fenders that are banged up in the front that might have good rear braces. Would you be interested in a used piece? They might be a little rusty but I think the metal is sound. It might take me a few days, but I can get you some pics if you'd like.

Rod I don’t mind used at all but I’d rather not ship whole fenders to jersey if they look good would you be willing to cut around the brace? Let me know

Bernhard thats where I got my patches thank you

i suppose i could fabricate them worse scenario scenario I hate that we just can’t get the stuff we need

Sorry, I missed your post about the fender brace. Refresh my memory, which side are you needing? I have a driver's side fender that the outer skin is toast but the brace may be OK. I'll try to post a pic tomorrow.
