Can anyone how u go about changing vin tag when replacing windshield cowl its rusted out pretty bad

 

Questions like this usually start a firestorm of posts. Suffice to say that the VIN tag is simply held with pop rivets, which are covered by the plastic bezel. Federal law allows you to remove and replace the tag if reasonably required for a repair. State laws are all over the map (pun not intended) and most are ambiguous. My advice is to do what you need to do, don't tell anyone, and don't post about it.
