Rear Wheel Arch Repair

An old body guy who I understand used to work at an Olds dealership told me that the wheel arch from a front fender could be used to replace the opposite quarter wheel arch.

Any truth to this? I haven't done any measuring but the Mark 1 eyeball suggests that there is some merit to the theory.

I've heard of people doing it with 68-69's. The rear is actually a slightly larger radius than the front though.

It depends on how long a segment you need. The wheel openings aren't identical, but large parts of the curve are the same. You can usually cut segments and patch the lip together.

Cool, good to know! I have sections to patch and some donor fenders so hopefully they'll do the job. Gonna be a while before I get to that, just didn't want to divest myself of usable repair metal.
