Lower front edge of trunk

I'd like to lower the front edge of the trunk lid about 1/4-3/8".

I have what seems to be a large gap between the leading edge of the trunk, and the chrome trim. The trunk would line up better with the quarter panels if adjusted down, and the lid hardly touches the weather strips either. There are no shims between the hinge arms and the trunk lid.

Is lowering it possible?

It appears the bracket the hinge attaches to, is welded to the body. I will probably have to climb in there and take a better look.

Not an easy task at 6'5" lol

This is the answer I got to a simular question, and it Works.

A couple of things you can try.. On the right side which is too high ,open the trunk and force bend upward, that should lower it and move it forward at the same time. On the left side 2x4 between the hinge and floorboard and force down (opposite of the other side).Do a little at a time. Then rattail file holes if needed. Hope that helped.
