Gap between the hood and center of grill

Gap between the hood and center of grill

Is there any way to reduce this gap, because I've noticed it other pictures?

Common problem. The plastic above the emblem breaks off around the mounting bolt. I don't know anyone this has NOT happened to yet. A wide washer under the plastic would help.
