Front plastic inner fender wells

I bought reproduction right front inner fender well from The Parts Place a couple years ago and now I am trying to install it. The inner doesn't align properly,it doesnt go in far enogh into the fender. If any of you have installed the well well, did you have to make any alterations on it, like maybe trimming some of the outside edges? I have tried using heat on it to try to get it to conform but to no avail. The top part of the well well I cant get it to go over far enough to put the 2 bolts in to fasten it to the fender. Any suggestions are appreciated. the car is 72 442

Post some pics so others with this problem can see how you did it first hand. Aftermarket almost everything doesn't fit right - especially plastic stuff
