Whats best to attach roof rail moulding? When removed the black original adhesive lookin like the tape used for windows in a home. Butle? Not sure if anyone have done this and what they used and where they got it. if it is that tape that comes in rolls. There is different sizes of thickness. Any advice would help.

Factory used a black foam tape (sticky only on the side that touches the stainless channel) as you mention. Typically gobbed a bunch of black strip chaulk above the "V" connector piece as well.
