71 cutlass /442 outer wheel well

Does anyone make a sheet metal patch for the outer edge of the wheel wells? The only rust I'm dealing with is the edges of 3 wheel wells ! That's it on the entire car. I hate to buy skins for 3 quarters and only use an inch or two aroung the wheel wells

I can't tell for sure, but it kinda looks like someone worked on it before. Can you get into the trunk with a bright flashlight to see if the rust continues or is just in the lip?

I have to agree with John. I think once you take a grinder to it, it's gonna be much bigger than you think.

wheel wells

Yes someone in the past has slapped some bondo on them and half azzed worked the area. I have been in the trunk and absolutely no visible cancer in there. the inner wells are 100% A magnet and tapping with a small hammer shows that the bondo is minimal on the lips. Yes I'm aware that it may be a larger area than I expect but i still think 1-2 inches is max. Thanks for the feee back guys

Well, obviously, as you know, the shape of these wheel openings are pretty intricate. As far as aftermarket patches, I've gotten ones that weren't even useable, so my advice would be to find some dry used sections....

I've heard that the profile of the wheel well lip on the fenders is a very close if not exact profile of the opposite quarter... I've cut a fender up to try this... but I havn't gotten around to it.
